Repair Process

What types of teach pendants do you repair?

We repair teach pendants from the three leading industrial robot manufacturers: ABB (FlexPendant), KUKA (smartPAD and smartPAD-2), and FANUC (iPendant and iPendant TOUCH). This covers all major controller generations including ABB IRC5 and OmniCore, KUKA KRC4 and KRC5, and FANUC R-30iA and R-30iB series.

What kind of faults can you repair?

Our engineers handle a wide range of teach pendant faults including cracked or unresponsive touchscreens, LCD display failures, membrane keypad wear, joystick malfunctions, deadman switch issues, E-stop button failures, cable and connector damage, communication board faults, and power supply problems. If your teach pendant has any issue, we encourage you to send it in for diagnosis.

How does the repair process work?

Our process is simple: first, register your teach pendant through our online form. Within one business day, you will receive a confirmation email with shipping instructions. Once we receive your unit, our engineers perform a full inspection and diagnosis. If the unit is repairable, we send you a detailed cost estimate. Upon your approval, we complete the repair and return it to you. The entire process typically takes 5-10 business days from receipt of your teach pendant and approval of the estimate.

Do I need to diagnose the problem before sending my teach pendant?

No. While providing a description of the issue helps us prepare, you do not need to identify the exact fault. Our engineers perform a comprehensive diagnosis as part of the repair process. Simply describe the symptoms you are experiencing when you register your teach pendant.

What happens if my teach pendant cannot be repaired?

If we determine that your teach pendant is beyond repair — either because the damage is too severe or because a repair would not be economically viable — we will notify you with a short report explaining our findings. In this case, we charge a €100 analysis fee plus the return shipping costs. You are never charged for a repair we cannot complete.

How much does a teach pendant repair cost?

Repair costs vary depending on the type and severity of the damage. After our engineers complete their diagnosis, we provide a detailed cost estimate for your approval before any repair work begins. Our repairs are typically a fraction of the cost of an OEM replacement, saving you significant money while restoring full functionality.

Is there a diagnosis fee?

The diagnosis is included at no extra charge when you proceed with the repair. If we determine that the teach pendant is not repairable, or if you decide not to proceed after receiving the cost estimate, a €100 analysis fee applies, plus return shipping costs.

Do I receive a cost estimate before the repair starts?

Yes, always. After our engineers complete the inspection and diagnosis, we send you a detailed cost estimate outlining exactly what needs to be repaired and the associated costs. The repair only proceeds after you give your explicit approval. There are no hidden fees or surprise charges.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfers and standard business invoicing. Payment terms are included with the final invoice, which is sent upon completion of the repair. For specific payment arrangements, please contact our team.

Shipping & Logistics

How do I ship my teach pendant to you?

After registering your teach pendant on our website, you will receive a confirmation email with our shipping address and a required form to include with your shipment. Pack your teach pendant securely to prevent transit damage, attach the form, and ship it to our workshop. We recommend using a tracked shipping service for your peace of mind.

Where is your repair workshop located?

Our workshop is located in the Netherlands, operated by our parent company IRS Robotics. We accept teach pendants from customers worldwide and ship repaired units back via FedEx Economy.

How is the repaired teach pendant returned to me?

After repair and final testing, we carefully package your teach pendant and ship it back via FedEx Economy. The shipping costs are included in the final invoice. If you require expedited return shipping, please let us know and we can arrange alternative options.

Do you offer worldwide shipping?

Yes. We accept teach pendants from and ship to customers around the world. Shipping costs vary by destination and are included in the final invoice. Our standard return shipping method is FedEx Economy.

Turnaround Time

How long does a repair take?

Our average turnaround time is 5 to 10 business days from the moment we receive your teach pendant and your approval of the cost estimate. The exact duration depends on the type and severity of the repair needed.

Do you offer expedited or rush repairs?

Yes. If you need your teach pendant back sooner, we may be able to accommodate a faster turnaround depending on the severity of the damage and current workshop capacity. Urgency fees may apply for expedited service. Contact us to discuss your requirements.

How quickly will I receive the diagnosis and cost estimate?

We aim to complete the inspection and send you a cost estimate as quickly as possible after receiving your teach pendant. In most cases, you will receive the estimate within a few business days of our workshop receiving the unit.

Warranty & Quality

Do you offer a warranty on repairs?

Yes. All replaced components come with their factory warranty from the date of delivery. This means you can trust that the parts used in your repair meet the original quality standards. For full warranty details, visit our warranty page.

How do you ensure repair quality?

Every repaired teach pendant undergoes rigorous functional testing before it leaves our workshop. Our engineers test all buttons, touchscreen responsiveness, communication with the robot controller, and overall functionality to ensure the unit performs like new. We do not return a teach pendant until it passes all quality checks.

What if my teach pendant develops the same issue after repair?

If a repaired component fails within the warranty period, contact us and we will assess the situation. Our warranty covers the replaced components, and we stand behind the quality of our work. We will work with you to resolve any issues promptly.

Who performs the repairs?

All repairs are carried out by experienced robot engineers at our workshop in the Netherlands. Our team is part of IRS Robotics, which has been refurbishing and servicing industrial robots since 2002. You can trust that your teach pendant is in expert hands.
